Happy Mother's Day 2012
Happy Mother's Day to everyone! It was a lovely day in Central Arkansas today. Was just about perfect weather-wise. I got some nice presents and I have just taken life easy today. DD#2 had a horse show today so we will have dinner with her tomorrow night. Grand-dog, Toby, came to spend the weekend with us. I've been knitting on my Skyp Socks this weekend.
Hope everyone had a good weekend.

It's Strawberry Time in Arkansas
Beautiful strawberries that taste as sweet as they look. The fields started being picked a month early this year (mid-March). The fields still look to be bearing well, so we will have the fresh berries for a while yet.
It is hard to believe how long it has been since I added a new post to this blog.
Earlier this week I spent a few days at a knitting retreat. I met some wonderful knitters and we instantly became friends. I hope by bringing this blog back to life, I will be able to stay in touch with these new friends.

Bread Baking
I baked bread on Saturday!! I checked the following book from the library.
Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I had to buy unbleached all-purpose flour and yeast in a jar instead of the envelopes and a good size bowl with a lid. I followed the easy directions and got a loaf of bread that was so good!! I now have enough dough left for 3 more loaves!!
Here is the loaf I baked before and after cooking, with a close up of the cut loaf!! Can't wait to bake more this afternoon!!
